Gibson is releasing a limited run of “robot guitars” on 7 December this year. No, this guitar will not automatically play out the tunes or move about the room (although the ads would almost have you believe that).

The guitar automatically tunes itself into a variety of guitar tunings (Open E, Drop D, etc). I would have dismissed this as gimmicky had this been from some other company but coming from Gibson, there is a fair promise of tone and playability.
