Surfing by Google Labs, came to know of two interesting features. The timeline and map view for Google Search. Given a search topic, google parses the results for key dates and locations and plots them on a timeline or on a (google) map.

Type the following into google:
indian freedom movement view:timeline

You can drill-down into the results by clicking on the decade bands.

And for the map view, type the following:
indian freedom movement view:map

Now only if we had these way back when doing those dreadful History projects in school.
