The Valentine’s Day gig at BrewHaha was well received. Here’s a video of “Can’t Live Without Rainbows”, an original composition that I had written and set tune to.
I personally thought this came out best, whilst other people opined that “Wonderful Tonight” (video below) was the “song of the night”.

Both tracks were really good indeed. While the second one understandably became the crowd favourite because of its popularity and the occasion itself, the first one offered something curious to the ear. I may not be extremely knowledgeable in Western Music but from what I do know, I found a unique mix of styles made popular by Simon and Garfunkel and the one and only Pink Floyd. The harmony at the back gelled in so well with the feel of the song, lending it a soft tranquil feel, something to just free yourself. The ending is what really grabbed my attention - the guitar riff, lending it a psychedelic feel and the actions too…totally ‘into’ the piece reminded me of watching Pink Floyd play Comfortably Numb live…as much as the song, the guitar riff just adds a dimension to the whole piece. Really impressed indeed…looking forward to hearing more. Is it possible to obtain the lyrics for “Can’t live without rainbows” anywhere?

Can’t Live Without Rainbows
[Started 1998 .. Completed 7 March 2006]
will somebody climb the mountain
ask the clouds to sleep for a while
let the sun come out
ask the sun to trickle softly
weave out a silver lining
never mind the faint touch of grey
hey hey butterfly
will you fly a while and go to the North
tell the brook who lives just a mile from here
tell her that I’ll meet her
round the bend near the old chestnut tree
where the daisies droop in the shade
’cause my heart
can’t live without a rainbow
anymore
’cause my heart
can’t live without a rainbow
anymore
will somebody steal the fire
my desire from the ocean
ride those waves so fierce and strong
take away these lonely words
hold them close to your heart
give them the melody of your song
hey hey butterfuly
will you fly a while and go to the North
tell the brook who lives just a mile from here
tell her that I’ll meet her
round the bend near the old chestnut tree
where the daisies droop in the shade
and my heart can’t live without a rainbow
anymore
