General Electric has been selected as the world’s most ethical company this year. While this obviously makes me proud because I work here, there is something more to it. The process behind the selection appears to be quite free of glib and hype and brings out an amazing fact:

The World’s Most Ethical Companies beat the S&P 500 over the last 5 years.
So, its not earnings or ethics, anymore. It’s earnings and ethics.

In general, as to the sustained profitability of ethical companies: if you think about it, it is quite logical, actually. :-p
